John Paul II Foundation Supports the Sisters of Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital and Many Hospitals in Lebanon
A Ceremony Emphasizes the Need to Preserve Human Dignity and Enhance Cooperation and Solidarity

The Sisters of Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital in Gemmayzeh, Beirut, held a ceremony to launch an initiative by John Paul II Foundation, which has provided the hospital, as well as many hospitals in Lebanon, with essential medical machines for their hospital services. The donation was made with the support of associations and donors in Italy.
The ceremony, held on Monday, March 17, 2025, was an initiative to support the hospital sector, particularly the Sisters of Our Lady of the Rosary, given their lofty mission. This is not the first such initiative, especially that hospitals in Lebanon are in dire need of essential support amidst the difficult circumstances that the country is passing through, which often hinder their normal work in serving people.
Attendees were His Eminence Monsignor Cesar Essayan, the Latin Apostolic Vicar of Beirut, Sister Maurine Bassil, the Regional Superior of the Rosary Congregation in Lebanon, Sister Marie-Joseph Salameh, the Director of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital, Sister Nicolas Akiki, the Former Director of the Hospital, Mr. Stefano Baldini, the Director of the John Paul II Foundation in Lebanon, Colonel Attilio Cortone, the Deputy Chairman Military Technical Committee, Colonel Feghali, Mrs. Silvia Tosi, the First Advisor to the Italian Embassy in Lebanon, Mrs. Madonna, Nuns, Administrators from the Sisters of Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital, Doctors, and medical and social personalities.
The ceremony included speeches delivered by Sister Marie-Joseph Salameh, His Eminence Monsignor Cesar Essayan, Mr. Stefano Baldini, Colonel Attilio Cortone, and Mrs. Silvia Tosi, in which they all commended this initiative in support of the hospital sector in Lebanon, particularly the mission of the Nuns in healing the wounds of the sick and the neediest people. They also emphasized the humanitarian significance of the initiative, particularly in preserving human dignity and enhancing cooperation, solidarity, and mutual support amidst the difficult circumstances that Lebanon and the region are facing.
The ceremony concluded with a toast for the occasion and an emphasis on the need to support hospitals in Lebanon and help them overcome all the economic and social challenges they face.
