Video – The Environmental Orthodox View and Youth Initiatives in the Fourth Episode of the "Days of the Season of Creation" 2021 on Télé Lumière and Noursat

The fourth episode of the program "Days of the Season of Creation" 2021 was broadcasted on Thursday, September 23, at 8:30 pm Beirut time and 5:30 GMT, and reran on Friday, September 24, 2021. The program is prepared in cooperation between Télé Lumière and Noursat and the Middle East Council of Churches. It is launched in the context of the international celebrations of the “Season of Creation” and will be broadcasted throughout the month of September. The content is prepared by the MECC Communication and Public Relations Department.
The episode was presented by Lea Maamary. Many guests from different fields participated throughout its environmental, Theological and youth segments and reports. Archimandrite Euthymios Faqes from St Elias – Shwayya Greek Orthodox Patriarchal Monastery in Lebanon presented in the first segment, the Theological Orthodox view towards the earth, nature and environment. He also explained the relation of the consecrated people with the earth and how the monasteries provide their needs through nature, in addition to glorifying the Creator through agricultural production.
In the second segment, coordinator of the Environment Committee at the Youth Pastoral Office in Bkerke, Lebanon, Christopher Daccache presented an introductory overview about the “Recycler Donation” initiative and its goals, explaining the importance of glorifying the Creator through such initiatives, and highlighting the need for recycling.
As for the last segment, it was dedicated to the campaign that aimed at cleaning up the Raouche beach in Beirut. Joseph Chehata from the Coptic Orthodox Church of Our Lady and Saint Mark the Apostle in Lebanon, and Mona Yammout from the Lebanese Scout Association shed light on this environmental activity that was implemented on Saturday, September 18, 2021 and its goals, in addition to the importance of waste sorting and taking care of the environment.
