  • The Health Ministry announced on Sunday 6 June, that 20 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Syria, adding that 5 coronavirus patients recovered and 3 others passed away.

  • In a statement, the Ministry noted that the total number of the coronavirus cases registered in Syria has reached up to 24659, of which 21635 have recovered, and 1,793 have passed away.[2]

  • 24659 laboratory-confirmed cases have been reported by the Syrian MoH : 5446 in Damascus; 3807 in Lattakia; 3570 in Aleppo; 2947 in Homs; 2545 in Rural Damascus; 1836 in Tartous; 1305 in Dar’a; 1280 in Sweida; 1083 in Hama; 484 in Quneitra; 227 in Deir-Ez-Zor; 106 in Al-Hasakeh and 23 in Ar-Raqqa.[3]

  • The Ministry of Health started a campaign to vaccinate medical and dental students in all governorates within specific centers during official working hours, starting from Sunday, June 6th.[4]

  • In northwest Syria, The total number of confirmed cases in northwest Syria has risen to 24,165, after 185 new cases were recorded on Sunday 6 June.While, the number of recovered cases reached 20978,adding that 680 fatalities have been recorded. [5]

  • In northeast Syria, the Health body announced on 3 June the registration of 27 new Covid-19 cases, which brings the total number of confirmed cases to 17,946, including 732 deaths and 1,817 recovered cases.[6]

  • During this reporting period, the average number of cases dropped to 207 per day.

  • The Minister of Public Health held talks with the World Bank delegation, which praised the role of the Ministry of Health in restoring part of the lost trust between citizens and official institutions via its vaccination program.

  • The Ministry of Public Health announced that 10,628 people of all nationalities were vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine in 29 centers accredited by the Ministry of Public Health in various Lebanese regions after registering on the platform.

  • The Ministry of Public Health announced in a statement that the Pfizer Marathon is still under study and will not cover people under sixty years of age

  • An agreement was signed between the Ministry of Public Health and MP Michel Daher to secure Pfizer vaccines through the Ministry of Public Health.

  • 51,100 written minutes have been written against violators of the decisions of general mobilization since 01/14/2021.

  • The National Disaster Management Operations Room issued a statement related to updating the strategy to confront the Coronavirus and the stages of gradual easing of the closure restrictions, in light of the decrease of new covid-19 infections.

  • The attendance rate for all employees in ministries, Public administrations, institutions, and municipalities returned to 100%, while adhering to the preventive measures and procedures such as sterilizing and putting on masks.

  • The Committee for Follow-up of Preventive Measures and Procedures for Coronavirus recommended allowing the holding of all events (weddings, conferences, exhibitions ...) within open and closed spaces, provided that the number of attendees does not exceed 250 persons and 50% of its capacity.

  • The Ministry of Public Health announced in a statement, “France included Lebanon in the list of green countries in its classification based on the positive health indicators.
