Highlights
Health Ministry said on Sunday 9 May, that 60 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Syria, while 280 coronavirus patients recovered and 9 others passed away.[2]
In GoS-controlled areas of the country,(as of 9 May), the Syrian Ministry of Health (MoH) reported 23379 Laboratory-confirmed cases, 1657 fatalities, and 18737 Recoveries.
23379 laboratory-confirmed cases have been reported by the Syrian MoH : 5240 in Damascus; 3655 in Lattakia; 3207 in Aleppo; 2837 in Homs; 2465 in Rural Damascus; 1793 in Tartous; 1249 in Dar’a; 1205 in Sweida; 969 in Hama; 460 in Quneitra; 191 in Deir-Ez-Zor; 94 in Al-Hasakeh and 14 in Ar-Raqqa.[3]
The Ministry of Health has launched an online platform to register for the Coronavirus vaccination, where all the required instructions and details are located inside the platform. http://covid19.moh.gov.sy/
The vaccination process for medical and health personnel has begun, as the priority for vaccination is for doctors, nurses, technicians and hospital workers. In the second priority are the elderly and persons with chronic disease who, after registering through the platform, will receive a message via mobile phone about the place and time of receiving the vaccine.
The Ministry of Health announced that it has 71 hospitals and 96 dispensaries to administer the vaccine distributed in all governorates, in addition to 416 mobile teams in areas where there is no health center. [4]

Highlights
During this reporting period, the average number of cases dropped to 750 per day.
In a statement, the Ministry of Public Health called for the necessity to report symptoms of vaccines and not to take into account media dramatizations.
The Minister of Public Health received the representative of the World Health Organization in Lebanon, Dr. Iman AlShanqeeti, and discussed the next stage of confronting the Corona pandemic, the measures that will be followed during the Easter period and the arrangements for vaccination of UNIFIL and the staff of the United Nations organizations operating in Lebanon.
The Minister of Public Health confirmed that in order to facilitate the affairs of cancer patients and dialysis who are being treated at the expense of the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry will send automatic invitations to them for vaccination.
The Committee for Follow-up of Preventive Measures and Measures to Confront the Coronavirus recommended banning the entry of travelers from India and Brazil to Lebanon through Beirut International Airport, land and sea crossings, unless they have been abroad in a third country for a period of at least 14 days.
Minister of Public Health, Dr. Hamad Hassan, received in his office at the Ministry of Health the District Commissioner of Jbeil Natali Mari El-Khoury, and discussed "the central role of the local authorities in keeping pace with the next phase of the national vaccination plan," which will focus, starting next June, on field vaccination campaigns in various Lebanese regions.
The Minister of Public Health Dr. Hamad Hassan, presented with a delegation from the United Nations Children's Fund - UNICEF a plan that will entail the vaccination of all UN staff Lebanon.
