The Theological and Ecumenical Department’s visit to dioceses in Syria

In order to present the MECC Theological and Ecumenical Department (TED) programs, Father Gaby Hachem, the department's director, and Sister Emilie Tannous, the program coordinator and director of the Ecumenical Program “Trauma Healing and Spiritual Counseling”, have visited Syria from 21 to 23 November 2019. They met many bishops and church officials appointed to work in the dioceses of Damascus, Houran and As Suwayda.

The visit aimed at presenting, in details, the department’s programs planned for next year, as well as the Ecumenical program “Trauma Healing and Spiritual Counseling”. The purpose was also to highlight the importance of this Ecumenical program and to encourage churches and pastors to join it, especially those who were exposed to considerable pressure during the Syrian crisis and supported the believers in their churches while facing the same problems.

The possibility to organize an ecumenical youth meeting in Homs was also discussed.
