His Beatitude Patriarch Cardinal Pierbattista Blesses the Nazareth Sisters' Kindergarten in Haifa

On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, the Nazareth Sisters' Kindergarten in Haifa was blessed in a ceremony attended by a distinguished assembly of religious and educational figures. The event was a heartfelt tribute to the dedication and effort behind this esteemed institution.

His Beatitude Patriarch Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, presided over the celebration, accompanied by Msgr. Rafiq Nahra, Patriarchal Vicar in Galilee, and Fr. Johnny Abu Khalil, the school’s spiritual chaplain. Among the honored guests were Sr. Marie-Noëlle, Superior General of the Sisters of Nazareth, and Sister Bernette, who played a key role in the kindergarten’s establishment and construction. Also in attendance were the Mayor of Haifa, representatives from the General Administration of Galilee Schools, the kindergarten’s director and faculty, as well as principals and teachers from the secondary and middle school levels.

The celebration commenced in the school’s church, where three official addresses highlighted the kindergarten’s pivotal role in shaping future generations and instilling core educational, moral, and spiritual values. The speakers reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to serving the community and upholding its mission of academic and personal excellence.

Following the speeches, the Maronite Scout Group of Galilee led a jubilant procession to the kindergarten courtyard. There, Msgr. Nahra and Fr. Abu Khalil recited prayers, after which His Beatitude the Cardinal solemnly blessed the building, sprinkling it with holy water.

The ceremony continued in the school’s yard, where His Beatitude, joined by the sisters, planted three olive trees—a symbol of generosity, heritage, and deep-rooted commitment to education. This act was a tribute to the sisters’ unwavering dedication and service to their mission.

The celebration concluded with a final blessing, filling the atmosphere with joy and gratitude. Guests then gathered in the kindergarten courtyard for a reception, exchanging congratulations and best wishes for a prosperous and enriching educational journey ahead.
