His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II Arrives to Cairo to Participate in the Fourteenth Meeting of the Heads of the Oriental Orthodox Churches in the Middle East

On May 9, 2024, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East and Supreme Head of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches, arrived to Cairo to participate in the fourteenth meeting of the Heads of the Oriental Orthodox Churches in the Middle East.

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, delegated their Eminences: Anba Thomas, Archbishop of Kawsiyya and Mir, Anba Clemandos, General Bishop, Anba Angelos General Bishop of the Churches of Shabra, and Dr. Gergis Saleh, Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches, to receive His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, and His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia,and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches, at Cairo International Airport.

Their Eminences: Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh, Archbishop of Beirut, Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Archbishop of Homs, Hama, Tartous and Environs, Rev. Raban Philipos Issa, Parish Priest of St. Mary Syriac Orthodox Church in Cairo and Mr. Elias Shahrestan, President of Parish Council, also received His Holiness at the airport.

He was accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Mor Augeen Al-Khoury Nemat, Patriarchal Secretary, and Mr. Georges Makdis Antoun from Suboro TV.
