His Holiness Catholicos Aram I Delivers His Pontificial Address at St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Sharjah in UAE

His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia, presided over the Sunday Divine Liturgy on January 28th, 2024, held at St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Sharjah. The liturgy was celebrated by the Prelate of UAE and Qatar, His Grace Bishop Mesrob Sarkissian.

Before inviting His Holiness Catholicos Aram I to address the faithful, the Prelate extended a warm welcome, acknowledging the significance of His Holiness's visit and reflecting on the consecration of the church by His Holiness, 25 years ago. He emphasized that this blessed visit would serve as a catalyst for the revitalization of the community, expressing filial gratitude and extending wishes for a long and healthy reign to Catholicos Aram I. His Grace Bishop Mesrob Sarkissian also conveyed greetings to Arch. Oshagan, the first prelate of the UAE and Qatar, as well as to the servants and volunteers of the Church.

His Holiness Catholicos Aram I commended the Prelate for his relentless efforts in rejuvenating and reorganizing the community, expressing commendation for the dedication of the Executive Committee of the Prelacy, who work side by side with the Prelate. In his sermon, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I reflected on the teachings of Jesus, emphasizing the importance of leading a Christ-centered life. Quoting Matthew 20:28, he underscored the value of service, stating, "Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many"…
