His Holiness Catholicos Aram I in Granite City

On Tuesday, October 15th, 2024, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches, and his delegation arrived in Granite City, Illinois, where he was warmly received by Rev. Fr. Taniel Mandjikian, pastor of St. Gregory the Illuminator Church, and members of the local Armenian community. Notably, His Holiness had consecrated this church in 1997.

After entering the church, the “Hrashapar” ceremony took place, during which His Holiness addressed the faithful. He emphasized that while the consecration of a church is significant, it is the people who bring the church to life through their active participation. His Holiness also underscored the value of ecumenical cooperation, noting the presence of clergy from different denominations as a symbol of unity.…
