Marian month: Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem invites faithful to join in Rosary prayer for an end to pandemic

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

May the Lord give you peace!

This year, in response to the heartfelt wish of Pope Francis, the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization is organizing a prayer initiative for the whole Church to invoke an end to the pandemic (ef. Acts 12:5).

During the month of May, all Shrines around the world are invited to recite the Rosary.

Thirty Shrines have been chosen to lead the Marian prayer on each day of the month, each one entrusted with a particular prayer intention for different groups of people most affected by the pandemic. Each day, the official channels of the Holy See will broadcast live, the prayers from each of the Shrines.

On the first and last day of the month, the Holy Father will open and close the prayer from two significant locations within the Vatican City …
