On the Evangelical Reformation anniversary, the Evangelical Churches in Lebanon celebrated the 504th Reformation Sunday during a Prayer service entitled “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines… yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior”(Habakkuk 3 : 17-18). The Prayer was held on Sunday, October 31, 2021, in the National Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Rabieh, with the presence of the President of the Supreme Council of the Evangelical Community in Lebanon and Syria Reverend Joseph Kassab.

The Prayer was presided over by Reverend Dr. Hadi Ghantous, who delivered a sermon in which he talked the circumstances that Lebanon is passing through today. The Prayer was also attended by a group of believers from the different Evangelical Churches. They remembered the Reformation principles based on the word of God and centered around the person of Christ through faith.

It is worth mentioning that the Reformation Sunday refers to the beginning of the Reformation movement that started with Augustinian monk Martin Luther in the German city of Wittenberg in 1517. You can also click here to learn more about this Evangelical Reformation.
