Standing Together in Prayer

From the Saturday Morning Prayer in the Syriac Orthodox Church, translated by His Holiness Mar Ignatius Zakka I Ouwais:

The rock from which rivers sprang into the wilderness symbolizes you, O Holy Virgin, for the Son of God shone from you to the world, he who is the rock of truth, according to Paul the Apostle... O beautiful Virgin, King David prophesied about you saying: The king’s daughter rose with glory and holiness, her beauty mesmerized the king who chose to be birthed from her womb.
