His Beatitude Patriarch Mor Ignatius Youssef III Younan at the Opening of the Meetings of the Council of Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops in Lebanon

"There is a longing for Christian unity"

His Beatitude Patriarch Mor Ignatius Youssef III Younan, Syriac Catholic Patriarch of Antioch, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC), at the opening of the meetings of the Council of Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops in Lebanon:

"There is a longing for Christian unity, and this year we celebrate Easter together according to the Eastern and Western calendars. This unity requires not only that we think about the affairs of our Church in Lebanon, but also that we open horizons to the Churches of the East.

We hope that the Council of Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops will be represented in all the Episcopal Councils in all countries."
