The Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) Dr. Michel Abs, met with Reverend Nadi Labib, Head of the Media Council of the Evangelical Synod of the Nile, in Cairo.

During the meeting the issue of the Christian media was discussed, in order to strengthen its role and cohesion among the Churches, in addition to the possibility of creating a media union that brings together all Christian media outlets.

As well as, attendees talked about the Council’s activities on the occasion of the Fiftieth Year of Its Founding, and emphasized that Christian media has a crucial role in serving all people without discrimination.

They also mentioned that the religious media has benefited from the development of communications technology in transmitting in audio and video the Christian culture to other cultures. It also went beyond the social issue to address human life issues, and from here emanates its importance in today’s world.

Thus, attendees hoped to create a media union between the Churches that would follow Christ’s commandment to his disciples: “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.”
