The Middle East Council of Churches Condemns the Violent Clashes on the Churches of Sudan

With the renewal of violent clashes and air strikes in Sudan, the Middle East Council of Churches strongly condemns the armed conflicts taking place in the country and affecting the Sudanese brothers and sisters. MECC also denounces the painful attacks on the Churches and places of worships, which some of them were converted into military barracks. These acts are dangerous, constitute a threat to human dignity, and a violation to the freedom of religion and human rights for people to live in peace and security.

The Middle East Council of Churches also expresses its full solidarity with the Sudanese people and calls for the respect of the ceasefire agreement, stressing the need to adhere to faith and work to consolidate the values ​​of love, justice and fraternity. MECC also raises its Prayers on the intention of achieving peace and justice.
