In the new issue of the weekly newsletter Momentum issued by the Communication and Public Relations Department of the Middle East Council of Churches you can find details about the webinar organized by MECC entitled “Palestinians and Liberation from a Christian Stance”, which is the first in a series of seminars that will be organized by the Council on a monthly basis on various topics and current issues. As for the weekly message of the MECC Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs, it is entitled “Palestine, the first of the seminars, the first results”, and revolved around the webinar and its goals.

On the occasion of the 2nd year commemoration of the Beirut Blast, the issue presents a report about Beirut today which is trying with its inhabitants to restore hope again. The report is entitled “Since August 4, 2020, Two Years of Death, Destruction and Pain Everywhere in Beirut... But Here the Will of Life Is Stronger”.

In addition, the issue includes report highlighting the relief work implemented and still doing so by the MECC Service and Relief – Diakonia Department, Beirut’s Office, following the Blast, especially the rehabilitation program for small businesses that were heavily damaged. The report also presents the stories of some owners of these businesses, who made a lot of efforts to bring life back to their investments.

As well as, you can find the news of the MECC Departments, especially the vocational sewing training sessions implemented by the Diakonia Department, Beirut’s Office, to empower women in Lebanon. The issue also presents the Ecumenical Calendar for August 2022, the MECC Annual Report 2021, Ecumenical reports, the weekly Prayer, and news of the Middle Eastern Churches.

Moreover, the issue presents a socio-economic overview of the Middle East during July 2022 and the latest updates of the Coronavirus in the region.
