Momentum, the Weekly Newsletter from the Middle East Council of Churches

In the new issue of the weekly newsletter Momentum issued by the Communication and Public Relations Department of the Middle East Council of Churches, you can find an invitation to attend a round table it organizes under the title "Women and Human Dignity", on Thursday 27 October 2022, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Beirut. As for the weekly message of the MECC Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs, it is entitled “The Fragile Global Peace”, in which he tackled the danger that people and the world are facing in light of the war in Europe.

The issue also presents details about the lecture organized by the Middle East Council of Churches, the Bible Society, and the Faculty of Religious Sciences at the Saint Joseph University (USJ) in Beirut, under the title “Why Our Religious Freedom Matters”, with Rt Revd Philip Mounstephen, Bishop of Truro, and Author of the FCDO’s independent review of persecuted Christians. It was held on Thursday 13 October 2022, at the Saint Joseph University’s campus. In this context, you can find the full lecture of Rt Revd Mounstephen, as well as the speech of the Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs in Arabic.

The issue includes a coverage for the visit of Rt Revd Philip Mounstephen heading a delegation from the Diocese of Truro in the UK, to the offices of the MECC’s General Secretariat in Beirut, on Thursday 13 October 2022. This is in addition to a news about the visit of a delegation from the German Bishops’ Conference to MECC in Beirut, on Monday 17 October 2022.
