Momentum, the Weekly Newsletter from the Middle East Council of Churches
The new issue of the weekly newsletter Momentum issued by the Communication and Public Relations Department of the Middle East Council of Churches presents the message of the MECC Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs, entitled “In treason, atonement, and begging religion in politics”. In addition to details and pictures about the honoring of the Legal Adviser and Member of the MECC Executive Committee Lawyer Ibrahim Alfred Traboulsi, on the occasion of awarding him the Order of Saint Gregory the Great at the rank of Commander from His Holiness Pope Francis.
As part of the “Week of Prayer for Christian Unity” 2022 activities, the issue also presents a special interview with HE. Reverend Dr. Habib Badr on Suboro TV, interviews with the MECC Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs on Télé Lumiere and Noursat and Suboro TV. As well as, an interview with HE. Bishop Joseph Mouawad on Radio Liban Libre, and a special episode prepared by the Communication and Public Relations Department in cooperation with Télé Lumiere and Noursat about the role of youth in the ecumenical work.
On the occasion of the Week of Prayer also, the issue includes a news about the lecture delivered by Secretary General Dr. Abs at the invitation of the Youth Movement of Our Lady of Lebanon in Paris, and details about the online prayer organized by the World Council of Churches and the Middle East Council of Churches.
In addition, the issue presents a news about the MECC participation in the annual meeting of the Gulf Churches Fellowship (GCF), the final communiqué issued by the MECC 10th General Assembly in preparation for the 12th General Assembly, and the ecumenical calendar for February 2022.
