“Of course, our Lord Jesus Christ did not need purification, yet He was circumcised in the flesh to fulfill the Law and lead us to be circumcised in the heart by the Holy Spirit. Indeed, this is an act of divine humility since He, Who is the author of Law, submits to the Law in order to fulfill all that we, as humans, could not fulfill (His Eminence Bishop Youssef, Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of the Southern United States).
