Just like the rest of the world, the Middle East embarked on a war against Omicron. Nearly every nation has reported new surges as the virus spreads among the vaccinated and unvaccinated.

Even gulf states which many people in the Middle East rely on for livelihood are surging with the new variant.

As a result, the region is torn between issuing lockdowns or keeping the economy fully functional.
