By deeds and words
Present everywhere are the MECC working groups.
Ever since our Levant was slapped with great blows in its history, until the day Beirut was swept out by the winds of treachery and neglect, our teams have been present accomplishing what their conviction and humanitarian duty dictates to them.
Through relief work we are present, and through rehabilitation as well as through development action we nurse the wounds of our people and members of our community.
We are present to read the extent of the disaster that shook the capital of art and culture in the Antiochian Levant and are present to delimit the damages and the necessities of assistance in preparation for launching appeals for support in our present difficult time in history channeled to the various bodies of the ecumenical world as well as to all other institutions for support.
What the MECC’s teams did in helping the stricken city of Beirut is small in proportion to the scale of the disaster, but it is great in relation to the amount of concern, love and dedication that were deployed through field action.
This electronic brochure documents the 365 days of toil and attempted support efforts experienced as well as deployed by our teams as they worked at nursing bleeding wounds. Thick is the material of the book. It aims to match the intensity of our feelings and concerns for the fate of those who were victims of one of the greatest catastrophes in the world.
Great is our field team, which performed its duty to the fullest, and great is our media team, which documented the events and conveyed information to those who show interest in what we are doing.
In our world today, streamline communication is half of the struggle, because we are in the age of knowledge and what one does not get to know seems as though it has never happened.
Our work was, and continues to be, full of love, eagerness and efficiency, in the battleground that shows the core metal of human beings, the core metal of the aid team and the core metal of the communication team inspired by the Word who was in the Beginning.
