Highlights
The Health Ministry announced on Sunday 30 May, that 27 new coronavirus infections were recorded in Syria, adding that 5 patients recovered while 3 others passed away.
In a statement, the Ministry indicated that the total number of coronavirus cases recorded in Syria has reached 24,467 till now, of which 21,598 have recovered and 1,766 have passed away.[2]
24467 laboratory-confirmed cases have been reported by the Syrian MoH : 5416 in Damascus; 3786 in Lattakia; 3521 in Aleppo; 2931 in Homs; 2530 in Rural Damascus; 1833 in Tartous; 1289 in Dar’a; 1270 in Sweida; 1066 in Hama; 476 in Quneitra; 225 in Deir-Ez-Zor; 102 in Al-Hasakeh and 22 in Ar-Raqqa. The vaccination process against covid-19 continues in various Syrian governorates for citizens registered through the online platform within the target groups whose turn has come and received messages.
In Northwest Syria. 78 new cases of Coronavirus were recorded as of 29 May, bringing the total number to 23326 positive cases, 666 and 20618 Recoveries. While, the total of tested cases has reached 135878. [4]
In Northeast Syria. As of 30 May, the total number of coronavirus cases has reached 17826, of which 1798 have recovered and 726 have passed away.3 fatalities and 80 new active cases have been registered on Sunday 30th of May. [5]

Highlights

During this reporting period, the average number of cases dropped to 244 per day.
The MOPH stepped-up its vaccination campaign having now partially or fully inoculated more than 10 percent of the population.
The Ministry of Public Health on the 29th of May, carried out the "AstraZeneca Marathon" for vaccination in 24 centers in various Lebanese regions. People between 30 and 65 years can receive the vaccine in the designated centers after registering on the platform.
The Ministry of Public Health confirmed that Lebanon will witness in the coming days and weeks the arrival of large quantities of the Pfizer vaccine, which will lead to the acceleration of vaccination process, as the Ministry will work to establish additional temporary centers, strengthen the current centers, and increase the amount of vaccines available to them.
The Ministry of Public Health renewed its call for citizens to register themselves on the platform and receive the vaccine through the Ministry of Public Health, because it is the best way to protect society from the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
51,080 written minutes have been written against violators of the decisions of general mobilization since 01/14/2021.
The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces, issued a report on the number of infections in prisons to date, as the number of temporal recovery cases of the Corona virus in Roumieh Central Prison and in the Beirut Justice Palace and in the prisons of minors and women in Baabda reached 1074 cases
The Ministry of Tourism to strictly control the tourism sectors under its authority, to ensure that it adheres to all obligations and preventive measures against the Coronavirus, and to take the necessary administrative measures against the violator.
