5 months following the Beirut Blast, MECC continues its humanitarian mission

The Middle East Council of Churches is still pursuing its disaster relief role in the wounded Beirut, in response to the urgent necessities resulting from the Port Blast and its catastrophic repercussions. Thus, the Service and Relief Department - Diakonia, in cooperation with the members of the Ecumenical Committee for the relief of Beirut, representing the Beirut Churches, provided a new batch of aid to the affected and afflicted people.

Consequently, these relief supplies were distributed to 1625 families and included vouchers to buy food and various materials, hygiene kits and food rations.

This aid program was implemented in partnership with several international organizations such as The Primate's World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF), FIDA, Emergency Relief & Development Overseas (ERDO) and Norwegian Church Aid (NCA).
