MECC : The Human Fraternity Document… A chart for Peace!

The Middle East Council of Churches congratulates the United Arab Emirates for its leading role in reinforcing the culture of tolerance and peace. The Human Fraternity’s Document, signed in Abu Dhabi by His Holiness Pope Francis, the Pope of Peace, and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmed el-Tayeb, the Imam of Moderation, is a new Chart for humanity, an international Constitution for the nations and the peoples that adhere to Heavenly religions and that yearn for stability, and coexistence in peace.

The MECC calls all the Churches and their Muslim brothers all over the world to ponder on the article of the document that considers “dialogue among believers means coming together in the vast space of spiritual, human and shared social values and, from here, transmitting the highest moral virtues that religions aim for. It also means avoiding unproductive discussions.”  Indeed, MECC believes that the spiritual values are bridges to true peace, and considers this historic document as a real call for change and a witness to the magnitude of faith and the Spirit of God Who is Love.
