President of the Protestant Churches mourns His Holiness Pope Francis: The world bids farewell today to a true voice of love and global peace, and a living conscience in a time of challenges

The Protestant Churches of Egypt, under the presidency of Rev. Dr. Andrea Zaki, mourn His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Vatican, who departed to heavenly glory today.

"Today, a true voice of love and global peace has departed our world; His Holiness Pope Francis was a living conscience in a time of challenges, a historical symbol of mercy and humility, and a true servant of the poor and marginalized. We pray that God grants comfort to all who loved him."

I extend my sincere heartfelt condolences to the State of the Vatican, to His Beatitude Patriarch Ibrahim Isaac, Coptic Catholic Patriarch of Alexandria, and to all members of the Catholic Church around the world, praying that God grants comfort to all.

Rev. Dr. Andrea Zaki

President of the Protestant Churches of Egypt
