His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II attends the official Iftar banquet invited by His Excellency General Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic
On the evening of Thursday, March 20, 2025, His Holiness Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Supreme Head of the Syriac Orthodox Church of the World, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches, attended the official Iftar banquet invited by His Excellency General Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic, at the Presidential Palace in Baabda, Lebanon.
Also attending the Iftar banquet were His Beatitude Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for the Maronites; His Beatitude Patriarch John X Yazigi, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for the Greek Orthodox Church and President of the Middle East Council of Churches for the Orthodox family; His Holiness Aram I Keshishian, Catholicos of Cilicia for the Armenian Orthodox Church and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches; His Beatitude Patriarch Raphaël Bedros XXI Minassian, Catholicos-Patriarch of Cilicia for the Armenian Catholic Church and President of the Middle East Council of Churches, for the Catholic family; His Beatitude Patriarch Mor Ignatius Joseph III Younan, Patriarch of the Syriac Catholic Church of Antioch and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches; along with representatives of the patriarchs, His Excellency Archbishop Paolo Borgia, the Apostolic Nuncio to Lebanon, and leaders of Christian and Islamic communities.
The Iftar was also attended by the Speaker of the Parliament, His Excellency Mr. Nabih Berri; the Prime Minister, His Excellency Judge Nawaf Salam; former presidents; several current and former ministers and members of parliament; as well as diplomatic, judicial, political, civil, and military dignitaries.
