On February 5, 2025, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East and Supreme Head of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches, met in Washington D.C. the President and members of the US Committee for International Religious Freedom.

His Eminence Archbishop Mor Dionysius John Kawak, Patriarchal Vicar of the Archdiocese of the Eastern USA, accompanied His Holiness.
