His Holiness Catholicos Aram I Closely Monitors the Situation in Aleppo

On Saturday, November 30th, 2024, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches, engaged throughout the day in diligent monitoring of the distressing situation resulting from the attacks perpetrated by armed groups in Aleppo. Maintaining constant communication with the Prelate of Aleppo, HE Arch. Magar Ashkarian, and community leaders, His Holiness conveyed his profound appreciation for their steadfast efforts to safeguard the welfare of the Armenian community with the highest level of responsibility.

Representatives of the armed opposition, during their visits to residences and centers belonging to the Armenian and Christian communities, assured that they are prepared to assist with essential daily needs and to offer support in any other necessary manner. Furthermore, both the Prelate and community leaders in Aleppo and Kessab have advised the Armenian community to remain indoors and to reach out to community leadership or centers should the need arise.
