His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II receives His Holiness Catholicos Aram I

On November 19, 2024, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East and Supreme Head of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches, received his brother in Christ His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, at the Patriarchal Residence in Atchaneh.

His Holiness Catholicos Aram was accompanied by their Eminences Archbishops: Shahan Sarkissian, Director of the “Cilicia Catholicosate” Library, Torkom Donayan, Former Archbishop of Western USA, and Rev. Fr. Sarkis Aprahamian.

During the meeting, His Holiness Catholicos Aram offered condolences on the passing away of the late Catholicos Mor Baselius Thomas I, Catholicos of India. Their Holiness also discussed matters of relevance for the two churches. They spoke about the different issues that affect the Christian presence in the Middle East.
