His Holiness Catholicos Aram I Inaugurates the 2024-2025 Academic Year at the Armenian Theological Seminary

The 2024–2025 academic year at the Armenian Theological Seminary commenced with a special ceremony on Monday, October 14, 2024, with the blessing of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches. The Seminary community convened in the “Prapion Doumanian” hall, where returning students presented a brief artistic program and new students were warmly welcomed to their new home.
The Dean, Very Rev. Fr. Barouyr Shernezian, addressed the gathering, expressing heartfelt gratitude to God for sustaining the mission of the Armenian Church amidst challenging and unpredictable circumstances in the region, particularly as Lebanon faces war. In his address, Fr. Barouyr read an excerpt from the late Catholicos Sahag II Khabayan, who not only endured the Armenian Genocide but also witnessed the final catastrophe that deprived the Holy See of Cilicia of its seat in Sis.
