His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II Presids Over the Evening Prayer at St. Georges Patriarchal Cathedral in Bab Touma – Damascus
On June 15, 2023, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East and Supreme Head of the Syriac Orthodox Church, presided over the evening prayer at St. Georges Patriarchal Cathedral in Bab Touma – Damascus.
Their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Cyril Babi, Patriarchal Vicar for the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, Mor Yacoub Babawi, Patriarchal Vicar for Monks Affairs and the Administration of Mor Aphrem Theological Seminary in Maarat Saydnaya, Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Assistant, and Mor Augeen Al Khoury Nemat, Patriarchal Secretary, were present at the evening Prayer.
After the evening prayer, His Holiness consecrated the Icon of the Syriac Martyrs of Sayfo, then His Holiness and their Eminences led a walk of candles from the Patriarchate Headquarters in Bab Touma to the Garden of the Syriac Martyrs near Bab Sharqi. There, they lit the flame in front of the Sayfo Memorial and prayed the service of the Martyrs in memory of the Syriac Martyrs of Sayfo.
