His Beatitude Patriarch John X and the accompanying delegation on a visit to Antioch, Alexandretta and Mersin

Beirut, April 13, 2023

His Beatitude Patriarch John X, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, and MECC President for the Orthodox Family, left the Beirut International Airport for his paternal visit to enquire after the parishes in Antioch, Alexandretta and Mersin, following the devastating earthquake which struck the region.

His Beatitude is accompanied by Their Eminences Bishops Constantine Kayyal (Abbot of the Patriarchal Monastery of Saint Elias Shwayya and Arsenios Dahdal, Abbot of St. George Al Homeyra Patriarchal Monastery, Reverend Archimandrites Fr. George Yacoub, Economos of Our Lady of Balamand Patriarchal Monastery, Fr. Jack Khalil, Dean of the Institute of Theology at the University of Balamand, Consul Mark Gharib, Dr. Walid Dagher, Mr. Ghassan Karam, and theology students Elias Kochoglu and Selim Polatoglu, as well as the media and production teams.

His Beatitude, along with the bishops and reverend fathers, will hold the services of Holy Friday, Holy Saturday, and Holy Pascha. The Patriarch will pray with his children and meet with them, in addition to the clergymen and heads of associations across all our parishes in Antioch.

The visit extends until April 20, 2023.
