His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II Participates in the Ecumenical Vigil Prayer Preceding the Synod of Catholic Bishops in the Vatican

On September 30, 2023, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East and Supreme Head of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church, participated in the Ecumenical Vigil Prayer at St. Peter Square in the Vatican. His Holiness Pope Francis invited, in cooperation with the Taizé community, Religious Leaders to this Ecumenical Prayer in preparation for the Synod of Catholic Bishops.

His Holiness was accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Mor Augeen Al Khoury Nemat, Patriarchal Secretary. Their Holinesses: Pope Francis, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, His Grace Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, and their Beatitudes: Syriac Catholic Patriarch of Antioch Mor Ignatius Youssef III Younan, Greek Catholic Melkite Patriarch of Antioch and All the East Joseph Absi,and Coptic Catholic Patriarch Ibrahim Ishaak, as well as representatives of other churches participated in the prayer.
