His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II Celebrates the the Holy Qurobo on the Occasion of Denho or Epiphany at St. Georges Patriarchal Cathedral in Bab Touma
On January 6, 2023, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East and Supreme Head of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church, celebrated the Holy Qurobo on the occasion of Denho or Epiphany, at St. Georges Patriarchal Cathedral in Bab Touma, Damascus, Syria.
During the Holy Qurobo, His Holiness was assisted by their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Cyril Babi, Patriarchal Vicar for the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, and Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
In his sermon, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II spoke about the baptism of St. John and his calling for repentance. He explained the Lord’s teaching about the kingdom of God. He also spoke about priesthood and pointed out to the line of priests from Aaron and Moses to John and then to our Lord Jesus. His Holiness called the faithful to renew their commitment to the faith they were baptized into and to show the spiritual fruits of their baptism in their lives through their deeds and showing love to others as befits the disciples of Christ.
