"Live this new phase of the journey to the fullest": Message of His Beatitude Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa on the Upcoming Stage of the Synod

You can find below the message of His Beatitude Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, on the upcoming stage of the Synod.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

may the Lord give you peace!

In view of the upcoming stage of the Synodal Path, which will be the Continental Stage, and in which all the Catholic Churches in the Middle East will be involved from February 12th to 18th, I wish on this occasion to extend an invitation to the entire diocese as well.

In order to live this new phase of the journey to the fullest, and so that it may bear the desired fruits of communion, participation and growth, we have a precious and effective tool always at our disposal, that of prayer.

Therefore, addressing first all male and female contemplative monasteries, I ask them to support this new synodal stage with their prayer.

I also ask that they be joined by all the communities of Institutes of Consecrated Life of men and women, as well as by parishes, associations and movements present here in the Holy Land, so that we may ask the Lord together to grant His Church to again experience this phase in that newness of life that the Spirit reserves for those who respond with docile readiness to His calls.

Those who would like may send a prayer intention to synod@lpj.org. The intentions shall be collected as a concrete sign of the participation of our particular Church.

In the certainty that your spiritual support will not be lacking, I ask the Merciful and Almighty Lord to bless each of you, your families and your communities.

To all the faithful of the diocese

† His Beatitude Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa
