Lesson #7 (final lesson) in GHF Series: “Where Are You? – 7 Places Where You Meet With God, From His Holiness Pope Tawadros II at the General Wednesday Meeting

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, delivered his weekly Wednesday sermon, on April 16, 2022, from the Church of the Transfiguration, from the Logos Center in the Monastery of St. Anba Bishoy in Wadi El-Natrun, Egypt.

The sermon was broadcast across several Christian satellite channels and by Internet on the Church’s Media Center Internet channel, COC, on the World Wide Web.

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II continued his contemplations on the Sundays of the GHF, entitled “Where are you?” – discussing the various places and ways in which we can encounter God, and these various places prepare us for Holy Week (Passion Week), which begins in a few days.

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II discussed the blessings of Passion Week:

1-It is [a week that is especially] filled with Readings from the Bible - from both the Gospels and the Old Testament

2-It is a week that is filled with many [and unique] rituals

3-Its profoundly deep hymns and musical tones

4-It is full of spiritual comfort

5-It is rich with many spiritual practices

His Holiness the Pope used Psalm 27 to demonstrate the passionate emotions of clinging to and befriending God:

1- Being in continuous dialogue with God throughout all of life’s activities - “Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thess 5:17)

2- Remaining in a state of constant contemplation and having the Holy Bible near you at all times – “Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.” (Ps 119:97)

3- Being constant in faithfulness – “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” (Rev 2:10)- Being constant in obedience – “To obey is better than sacrifice.” (1 Sam 15:22)…
