His Beatitude Patriarch John X, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, presided over Vespers of the feasts of Saint John of Damascus and Saint Barbara at the Church of Saint John of Damascus in Bab Touma, Damascus, on Saturday 3 December 2022, in the presence of their Graces Bishop Moussa Al-Khoury, Bishop Youhanna Batach, Bishop Arsanios Dahdal, Bishop Moses Al-Khosi, many priests and deacons of the city of Damascus, and a large crowd of believers.

Before the Vespers, the procession of the Panagia Hodegetria icon of the Virgin took place from the Mariamiyah Patriarchal Cathedral to the Church of St. John of Damascus, with a large crowd of believers. Upon arrival at the Church, the icon was consecrated, thereby blessing those who were present and asking for the intercessions of the Most Holy Theotokos. Before the end of Vespers, His Beatitude Patriarch John X elevated Father Basilios Moussa a to the rank of archimandrite by the laying on of hands.
