“We are Headed to the Vatican to Present the Struggles of the Lebanese People and Stress the Imperative of Forming a New Government” His Holiness Aram I

Considering that the July 1st meeting of the Christian leaders of Lebanon in the Vatican is the initiative of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, various political, religious and academic figures, as well as Lebanon’s Ambassador to the Holy See and representatives of the Lebanese civil society and media, held correspondences with the Catholicos to learn more about his perspectives concerning the meeting.

In this regard, Aram I stressed the following imperatives:

- Lebanon’s Christian leaders travel to the Vatican to speak for the entirety of the Lebanese people, regardless of sectarian affiliations, since the entire nation suffers.

- The Christian Leaders bear the responsibility to speak for the people entrusted to their religious care, because the church, in essence, represents God’s children, and, as such, the church cannot be negligent of their struggles and needs.
