On October 24, 2021, the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East and Supreme Head of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo at St. Mary Church in Montfermeil, France.

He was assisted by their Eminences Archbishops: Mor George Kourieh, Patriarchal Vicar in Belgium, France and Luxembourg, Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Archbishop of Homs, Hama, Tartous and Environs, and Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director. Their Eminences: Anba Athanasius, Coptic Orthodox Archbishop in France, Anba Markose of the Coptic Orthodox Church, and Vahan Ovhannessian Archbishop of the Armenian Orthodox. His Excellency Bishop Dimitrios of the Greek Orthodox Church in Paris, and His Excellency Mgr. Maroun Nasser Jemayel, Maronite Archbishop in France as well as His Excellency Mr. Mohammad Abou Dala, Charge d’Affaires of the Syrian Embassy in Paris and Mr. Jean Christophe Peaucelle, representative of the Foreign Ministry, were also present.

In his sermon, His Holiness spoke about the diaspora and the role of the church in keeping the faithful attached to their homeland. He prayed for the healing of the sick, especially those who were infected with Corona, encouraging everyone to abide by the directions of the physicians and specialists.
