Due to the worsening emergency situation stemming from the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) worldwide, necessary measures have been taken on all levels to prevent the spread of this virus through reducing public gatherings and meetings. This pandemic has been covered on the internet and on all social media platforms through a large number of articles and visuals focused on prevention methods while people face a huge load of information, that could sometimes be false or inaccurate. Therefore, ACT Alliance offered a new reliable and freely accessible resource developed by the ACT Reference Group on Peace & Human Security - noting that MECC is one of its members - in collaboration with the DanChurchAid (DCA), and the Norwegian Church Aid (NCA). The aim of this new resource is to provide guidance on COVID-19 and on religious actors. The website page has received feedback from the Conflict Sensitivity Community, the Network for Conflict Prevention & Peacebuilding, and from the ACT Secretariat. In addition, this platform includes articles explaining how COVID-19 may affect the way we work, so we can learn how to adapt to the situation, do some good, and if possible, contribute to sustainable peace.
