Opening of the Forum of the Common Christian Heritage of the Holy Valley
On September 18, 2019, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II participated in the Opening Session of the Forum of the Common Christian Heritage of the Holy Valley, organized by the Qannoubine League at the “House of Memory and Media” – Garden of the Patriarchs in Diman.
Their Beatitudes Patriarchs: Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Raii, Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Mor Ignatius Youssef III Younan, Syriac Catholic Patriarch of Antioch, and John X, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East were present and delivered speeches at the opening session, as well as representatives of His Holiness Armenian Orthodox Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I, and Armenian Catholic Patriarch Gregory XX.
In his speech, His Holiness spoke about the historical presence of the Syriac Orthodox monks in the Holy Valley and the deep spiritual relationship that existed between the monastic traditions in the Holy Valley. He hoped that further cooperation can exist between the monks of different churches to enrich the spirituality of the Holy Valley.
