PCUSA visit to MECC

A delegation from the United States Presbyterian Evangelical Church- PCUSA, national leadership, visited the headquarters of the Middle East Council of Churches in Beirut and met with a number of directors of departments and programs in the Council.

The visit comes within the framework of a tour to the Middle East with the Regional Liaison to Iraq, Syria and Lebanon Rev. El Marie Parker, to discuss the long march of cooperation between the American Evangelical Church and the Council and ways of developing it in line with the needs of the Churches of the Middle East. They emphasized respective roles of each in relief work in the region and their roles in the recently revived unit of the Theological and Ecumenical Department for interfaith and citizenship work.
