The tour of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) delegation in Alexandria included the participation in the closing ceremony of the project of Hope Academy for Arts and Sports which was held by the Village of Hope Association headed by Mrs. Nada Al-Alfy Thabet, a Member of the Egyptian Parliament.

The ceremony was held in Al-Majd Conference Hall at the Ras El Tin Naval Base in Alexandria and included artistic and sports performances presented by graduating students with special needs. The credit for this humanitarian achievement goes to Mrs. Nada Al-Alfy Thabet, who has been serving children with special needs for decades.

This is not the first visit made by a delegation from the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) to the Village of Hope and nor the first meeting with its President.

Noting that the MECC delegation included, in addition to the Secretary General Professor Michel Abs, the Associate Secretary General Reverend Refaat Fikry, and the Journalist Lea Adel Maamary, the Media Officer and the Coordinator of the Church and Media Relations in the Council.
