The Danmission organization held a MENA partner seminar, on 2 and 3 July 2024, at the Citea Hotel - Achrafieh, Lebanon, with the participation of many organizations and institutions, including the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC). Hence, the MECC delegation included the Director of the Theological and Ecumenical Department Father Dr. Antoine Al Ahmar, the Director of the Lebanon’s Office of the Diakonia and Social Service Department Ms. Nina Hallak, and the Coordinator of the Social Capital Rehabilitation Project Dr. Laure Abi Khalil.

The seminar’s various sessions aimed at discussing ways to strengthen relations between “Danmission” and its partner organizations, in addition to developing the work mechanism in order to achieve the desired goals. The participants also exchanged experiences and opinions on common issues and affairs, as well as on planning new projects according to the required needs.

From her side, the Regional Director of the MENA office of “Danmission”, Mrs. Kirsten Auken, mentioned that "what we want to do is to support the partners as civil society actors to have great outreach and make great results, both through what they do but also from what they are as civil society and churches in their countries.”

During one of the sessions, the delegation of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) made an introductory presentation about MECC, its structure, mission and goals, as well as the scope of its work, its most prominent programs, and ways of cooperation with the “Danmission” organization.
