The MECC Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs Attends the Prayer Service in the Heliopolis Evangelical Church and Talks About the MECC History, Its Founding, and Projects

On the occasion of the Fiftieth Year of the Founding of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC), and as part of his meetings included in his visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) Dr. Michel Abs attended the Prayer Service held by the Pastor of the Heliopolis Evangelical Church Reverend Dr. Youssef Samir, with the participation of Reverends Jean Emile and Sameh Anwar.
The Prayer was also attended by the MECC Associate Secretary General Reverend Dr. Refaat Fikry, the Coordinator of Communication for Church Relations the journalist Lea Adel Maamary, and believers.
The Prayer included reflections and readings on the intentions of the Church members and the suffering people. The Church’s Pastor Reverend Youssef Samir also delivered a Sermon in which he spoke about the nowadays trends that destroy human and social values, not to mention the money slave that corrupts people.
During the Prayer, the Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) Dr. Michel Abs delivered a speech in which he spoke at length about the MECC Founding and the Church Families that it includes, and its goals and activities for the Fiftieth Year of its Founding.
