We Are Awake... Waiting for Our Return
The Nativity Manger 2024 at Our Lady of Amchit Church
Embodiment of the Church of the Nativity and the Bethlehem Manger
The Nativity Manger: it consists of arranged, irregular and unpolished rocks that retain their natural shape to indicate the solid foundation of the Christian faith built on the virtues of simplicity, humility and love.
The Church Above the Manger: an architectural embodiment of the true Church of the Nativity built above the Manger of the Nativity, the rock of our faith.
A sign of rootedness in this East from which the Light emanated.
On the top of the Church you can find a dome bearing 5 bells whose ringing reminds us of returning to God.
At its top you can also find a four-dimensional cross, a sign of our salvation.
We are deprived of visiting the Land on which Christ lived, as this model translates the longing for this encounter.
The lamps: 15 lamps representing the 15 Christian sects and a sign of the unity of the Church with its diversity and Christ is the only Light capable of lighting these lamps and illuminating them, gathering his sheep in one fold.
The star under the Manger: It carries 14 rays and symbolizes the stages of the Way of the Passion that Christ lived.
It also symbolizes the 14 generations from Abraham to David and from David to Christ. Its construction dates back 14 centuries.
The gray color: the color of flint, which is the hardest type of rock that defies the factors of nature and time.
It indicates the continued steadfastness of the Church in the face of difficulties and challenges since its establishment until today, as the gates of hell have not and will not prevail against it.
The green color: it is the color of life, fertility, fruitfulness and continuity.
It symbolizes hope in the Resurrection and this spring of renewal cannot be reached without passing through true peace derived only from the Prince of Peace.
The white color: it symbolizes peace, purity, cleanliness, clarity and righteousness, and refers to the divine nature and heavenly purity, i.e. Resurrection, eternity and light, for the light of Christ alone illuminates the darkness of the earth.
The decorated tree: with medicine that represents health care, the book that represents education and food that represents physical nourishment. These are the three basic and necessary pillars missing for the healthy growth of any child that makes him or her a good citizen.
Children in the Church square: carrying candles because in their purity they reflect the light of Christ, doves of peace because in their innocence they resemble the perfection of the divine child, and olive branches because in their simplicity they are a sign of God's blessing.
