Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs and an MECC Delegation On a visit to Reverend Dr. Paul Haidostian

Towards the Fifty-Year Jubilee of the MECC Founding

The Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches Dr. Michel Abs, heading a delegation from the Council, visited Reverend Dr. Paul Haidostian, President of the Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East, President of Haigazian University in Lebanon, and President of the Middle East Council of Churches for the Evangelical Family, on Friday 5 January 2023, at the Haigazian University’s campus.

The MECC delegation included the Associate Secretary General Mrs. Seta Hadeshian, the Director of the Lebanon’s Office at the MECC Diakonia and Social Service Department Ms. Nina Hallak, the Executive Assistant to the Secretary General Mrs. Caroline Haddad, and the MECC Human Resources Senior Officer Mrs. Roula Saliba.

During the meeting, the Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs and the MECC delegation presented to Reverend Dr. Paul Haidostian their greetings on the occasion of Christmas and New Year, wishing him many years of blessings and prosperity, asking God to grant him energy and benedictions in his Pastoral mission.

The delegation also presented to Reverend Dr. Paul Haidostian the latest updates regarding the program of the fiftieth year of the MECC founding, where they discussed the activities that will be implemented for the occasion. Hence, the delegation invited Dr. Haidostian to participate in the Ecumenical musical event that will be held this January in Beirut.

Noting that this event will bring together a group of musical choirs, which will include more than 350 singers and musicians from the symphony orchestra, who are clergy, consecrated and lay people, from various Church families and Liturgical traditions, and from various ages.

In this context, attendees discussed also during the meeting about the importance of the Prayer Service that the Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East UAECNE, will held on the intention of Artsakh, Palestine and Lebanon, on Saturday, 6 January, at 12:30 p.m., Beirut time, at the First Armenian Evangelical Church, Beirut.
