In an Exclusive Interview with Reverend Dr. Paul Haidostian: we will celebrate one hundred years of Prayer, service, Evangelism, social service, and educational service, and Church service, for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ
With great faith and deep hope, the Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East (UAECNE) is entering a new and bright era in its history. After the Armenian Evangelical Churches witnessed the dawn of a new epoch with the founding of the Union, the UAECNE is celebrating its hundredth jubilee this year. One hundred years crowned with testimony, Prayer, and work in the field of the Lord... one hundred years in which the Union looks forward to a brighter future with the grace and blessings of the Lord Jesus Christ.
In celebration of this jubilee, the Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East prepared a special and new logo, and chose the slogan of “The Lord’s Prayer” in all the programs and activities that it will implement this year. Therefore, it will consolidate the Christian faith in the Father who is in the Heavens and His Holy Name, and enhance the spiritual awareness of the One God Almighty.
In an exclusive interview for the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) website, Reverend Dr. Paul Haidostian, President of the Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East (UAECNE), President of Haigazian University in Lebanon and MECC President for the Evangelical Family, addressed a message on the occasion and highlighted the establishment of the Union and the celebrations that will be held to celebrate its 100th jubilee.
Hence, Reverend Dr. Paul Haidostian said: “The year 2024 is firstly the 178th year of the birth of the Armenian Evangelical Church in the world, and it is also the year of the beginning of a new effort and gathering in the life of the Evangelical Armenian Church. Following the Armenian genocide and displacement in 1924, the Armenian Evangelical Churches, parishes, and Pastors united and met again after all these tragedies, and created a new part of the life of the Church. Noting that the Union of Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East is present in all the countries of the Middle East where Armenians spread after the massacres that had occurred.”
Concerning the jubilee celebrations, Dr. Haidostian added: “During this blessed year, we will celebrate one hundred years of Prayer, service, Evangelism, social service, and educational service, and Church service, for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East will celebrate in many regions and countries and in different ways in our schools, institutions, and associations. The main celebration will be held, by the will of our Lord, on Sunday 30 June 2024.”
Reverend Dr. Paul Haidostian continued “following this great ceremony and joint Prayer with all these Sister Churches, we will hold the General Assembly of the Union of Churches during three days at the beginning of July 2024. With time, we will invite Believers, Churches, and Pastors from many countries to Lebanon in order to celebrate the 100th jubilee of the Union.”
Therefore, the Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East (UAECNE) celebrates a hundred years full of Prayer, hope, and determination to continue witnessing and building a better future by living the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ with great spirituality and great joy, far from all the conflicts and crises that cast their shadow over the region.
