In the new issue of the weekly newsletter Momentum issued by the Middle East Council of Churches, Communication and Public Relations Department, you can find details about the monthly webinar organized by MECC under the title “Human Dignity for Newborns of Unknown Parents”, on Thursday 31 August 2023, with the participation of specialists, academicians, universities’ students and interested attendees in the topic at hand. As for the weekly message of the MECC Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs, it is entitled “Pieces of us abandoned in the street”. It was the speech he delivered during this webinar, in which he talked about the issue of the children of unknown parents.

The issue also includes a video interview with Dr. Laure Abi Khalil, the Coordinator of the Social Rehabilitation Project at the Middle East Council of Churches. Dr. Laure was the guest of an episode of “Al Nour Maana” (The Light is with Us) program, on TéléLumière and Noursat. The episode was broadcasted on Thursday 31 August 2023. During the episode, she highlighted the “Human Dignity Project” - “Dialogue and Social Cohesion-Social Capital Rehabilitation”, that the Middle East Council of Churches is implementing, especially through a series of monthly seminars that it has launched and revolving around various issues related to human dignity and the Middle East region. She also talked the webinar organized by MECC under the title “Human Dignity for Newborns of Unknown Parents”.

As well as, you can find a news, photos and a video about the Spiritual Retreat organized by MECC in celebration of the “Season of Creation” 2023 launching. It was held on Friday 1 September 2023, which also marks the beginning of the Ecclesial Year, and was hosted by His Eminence Bishop Costantine Kayyal, the Head of the Greek Orthodox Saint Elie Chouaya Patriarchal Monastery - Lebanon, at the Monastery.

The issue also presents a spiritual lecture delivered by Archimandrite Euthymios Faqas, a Priest at the Greek Orthodox Saint Elie Chouaya Patriarchal Monastery – Lebanon, about Environmental Theology with an Orthodox view, under the title “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come” (2 Corinthians 5: 17). The lecture was part of the Spiritual Retreat organized by the MECC General Secretariat.

You can also find the “Season of Creation” 2023 Guide in Arabic and English which includes all the details and information related to the Season and this year's theme, in addition to Prayers and suggestions for participating in the celebrations... Noting that MECC has translated the booklet into Arabic.

Moreover, the issue includes details about the latest activities implemented by the Middle East Council of Churches, Diakonia and Social Service Department, Lebanon’s Office, in order to support the neediest psychologically and financially.

Furthermore, the issue includes many reports issued by MECC after the earthquake that hit the North of the Antiochian Levant, under the name of "Rescue Syria Update" which will keep you informed about the developments of MECC action as well as the overall situation in a context analysis perspective. The MECC will be also publishing other periodical and updated reports. This is in addition to photo albums showing the difficult humanitarian situations in Syria.
