The Scene of Destruction in Syria

Amidst the political, economic, and health crises that the Syrian people are suffering from, Syria drowned, in less than moments, in a new catastrophe due to the earthquake that hit it at dawn on Monday 6 February 2023… Syria is stricken at the core.
The earthquake resulted massive destruction in the streets and heavy losses to public and private properties. As for the Syrians who survived the disaster, they passed through very difficult moments of terror which will remain engraved in their minds forever.
Therefore, the Middle East Council of Churches launched an appeal to the world, calling for the support of Syria in order to help its people at various levels, in addition to urging for the lifting of sanctions on the country so that it can receive all the basic and necessary materials for those afflicted. Hence, MECC in Syria, in cooperation with the Churches, went to the field and hastened to heal the wounds of the affected people and alleviate their pain.
The MECC team in Syria have also took some photos of the destruction scene in wounded Aleppo, Syria.
